A minor alteration to compact inner city Victorian terrace house in Fitzroy, this project involved re-planning a series of small compartmentalised rooms to rationalise existing spaces and create an open family living room without adding substantially to the footprint of the building.
An elegant and under stated interior is reflective of our client’s focus on functionality and their commitment to the ethos of less, not more. A minimalist approach to the design of the joinery elements conceals storage and appliances, to provide an uncluttered backdrop to the space.
A linear skylight above the kitchen brings an abundance of natural light into the room. Efficient planning of spaces and attention to detail was the key to achieving the client’s brief for a practical and refined design outcome within a constrained space and budget.
