Korowa Sports & Wellbeing Centre
Korowa Anglican Girls School, Glen Iris
A new Sports and Wellbeing Centre for Korowa Anglican Girls School, Glen Iris. This project is currently under construction and is being undertaken in association with Sally Draper Architects.
Bringing together a range of sports, wellbeing and drama facilities, this new building is designed to enhance student engagement with these activities. The design maintains strong connections to other parts of the campus and focuses on creating spaces that are welcoming and inclusive. The use of durable natural materials and an emphasis on creating naturally comfortable spaces, all contribute to a sense that this building was designed to foster growth and development.
A new café and outdoor terrace are positioned to create a strong and vibrant link between the new building and main school. New sporting facilities include a 25m indoor pool with state-of-the-art low energy open balance ventilation system, gymnasium, pilates and PMP studios, sports hall and rooftop court, along with complementary teaching spaces. A multipurpose rehearsal and performance studio, dance studios, and a dedicated wellbeing centre are also accommodated within the building.
This new centre brings together many complementary facilities and promotes a wholistic approach to education by encouraging students to engage with sport, drama and dance in a natural and intuitive way.
